For a long time the only way you could catch Ri was in constant motion. She leaped across artistic, academic, and technological disciplines as a dancer, freelance videographer, gender studies nerd, arts administrator, and social justice advocate. In 2021 Ri received her M.F.A. in Dance & Interdisciplinary Digital Media & Performance (Arizona State University), where she taught courses on Intro to Dance, Modern Dance I, Yoga, and numerous dance and technology workshops.
Ri continued her 200 HR YTT education through the Resonance Yoga Mentorship Program with Jacoby Ballard. She is currently in the Somatic Groundwork program led by Kaila June Keliikiuli to be ISMETA certified in 2026. Ri enjoys facilitating classes that are adapted to meet the needs of the students in the space, and seeks to support students in deepening their ability to listen and trust their own bodies. Ri strives to develop classes that are accessible, trauma-informed, body-positive, culturally-aware, and rooted in the connection between breath, body, and mind.
Her artistic practice focuses on fostering imaginative, socially connected somatic spaces that inspire creativity, collaboration, and embodied connection.  Ri has performed, screened films, and shown work at ASU, The Prague Quadrennial, the International Conference on Movement and Computing, Abrons Arts Center, Triskelion Arts Center, The Yard, University of Florida, New College of Florida, and in numerous community and site-specific places.
In January 2022 Ri opened Dances With Tech LLC, a movement and technology company that includes creative producing, filming shows, events, artists profile pieces, and digital marketing support. Her professional contributions include serving as a Subject Matter Expert for the Assistance for Arts Education (AAE) program, as a reviewer for the Journal of Dance Education, and as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance and Media at Arizona State University (2023-2024). She is also trained in the Kennedy Center Arts Integration Method through the Molly Blank Fund Teaching Artists Program. Recently, Ri facilitated an arts documentation workshop for the City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture. She is a 2024 recipient of the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture Artist to Work grant and the Arizona Commission on the Arts Artist Opportunities grant.
When Ri isn't playing with technology or embracing the sacred pause of yoga, Ri can be found practicing Tap, House, Contemporary, Contact Improv, indoor climbing, hiking, making crafty things, or just resting.
