Welcome!
My name is Ri (like whee with an R) and I am a videographer, multimedia and creative consultant, and an educator by trade and a dancer, yoga and somatic practitioner, choreographer, and media maven by passion.
My passion is bringing conscious awareness of movement and being in our bodies into interactions with technology, spaces, and people.
Basically, I enjoy:

- understanding the big picture, the small details and steps to get from where we are to where we want to go

- utilizing intuition and reading a room to adapt in the moment and create welcoming spaces for growth

- holding space for exploration, experimentation, critical thinking, and reflective learning environments
- facilitating embodied practices through a lens of historical, cultural, and anti-oppressive awareness

I work across the arts, with performers, nonprofits, educational institutions, and small businesses to understand how they want to be seen and best practices for integrating technology into their creative projects, academic concepts, social media presence, live events, shows, and installations.
I build creative play spaces that combine physical movement (dance/theater), storytelling, worldbuilding, fantasy and magical realism, somatic practices, local communities, and digital technologies (video, audio, sensors, haptics, projections, VR, AR, and experimental media). My goal is to cultivate connection to our bodies and to each other through the very technologies that seem built to disconnect us.
The daily reality of that might be that I film performances, produce and choreograph dance films, edit videos, plan creative content for online and in-person spaces, sketch ideas for physical and digital projects, coordinate ideas and physical objects with collaborators, host a lot of meetings, work with people across multiple fields and lived experiences, prototype environments for audiences to move through or be in, test out ideas and experiences with audiences, students and clients, reflect on how those experiences went, tweak and refine ideas, and continue to iterate until the process (or product) feels done enough. Curiosity complete.
I am obsessed with trying to rethink how inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (i.d.e.a.) can be remixed and uplifted into the technological and performance spheres. I am dedicated to unlearning the 'isms that create suffering in our world.
